UNBELIEVABLE!! NIGERIAN VISA COSTS MORE THAN UNITED STATES VISA

Believe it or not, it is true, Nigerian visa costs more than the United States of America visa by quite a significant amount.

To obtain a normal travel, schooling or business visa to U.S.A, the cost is $160 flat which is equivalent to N48,800 in Nigerian Naira at N305 per dollar C.B.N exchange rate.

On the other hand, a normal travel, schooling or business class visa to Nigeria cost $180 with an additional $20 as processing fee. Converting to Naira will amount to N54,900 and N6,100 as processing fee respectively, a total of N61,000 for the Nigerian visa as against N48,800 paid for the American visa, at same exchange rate

So it is cheaper for a Nigerian to enter America than for an American to enter Nigeria. This normally, will be expected to be the other way round, seeing that America has greener pastures than Nigeria.

Unbelievable!

WHAT IS A VISA?
Visa is a form of clearance that allows the holder to travel from one country to another. The visa is stamped on the international passport when granted.

The visa to various countries, is issued at the embassies of various countries within the country and checked at the airport when ever, one travel to the destination country. But before this visa is granted, a visa application fee is paid after which the applicant schedules an interview with the embassy of the country he wants to travel to. Visa applicants, including children, are required to pay a non-refundable, non-transferable visa application fee, sometimes referred to as the MRV fee, before applying for a visa.

The visa application fee must be paid whether a visa is issued or denied. Your visa application fee is non-refundable and you cannot transfer it to another person. You will receive a receipt after paying the application fee. This receipt is valid for one year from the date of payment and allows you to schedule your interview at the Embassy/Consulate General. You must schedule your interview while the receipt is valid, which means your interview must be booked within one year of paying your fee.

If you do not schedule an interview within a year of payment then your receipt will expire, you will not be able to schedule an interview, and you must pay the fee again and begin the process anew.

I love Nigeria...

Do you?
