Stop Witch-hunting Nigerians, Group tells Buhari and DSS

BUHARI
A group known as the Coalition for Democratic Change has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the Department of State Services, DSS to desist from witch-hunting Nigerians, particularly perceived
friends of the former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under the guise of waging a war on corruption. The chairman of the group, Emmanuel Ekpeyong, speaking to the media in Abuja today, pointed out that the DSS have resorted into hiding under President Buhari’s administration’s war against corruption to make life miserable for many who disagreed with them. He cited the repeated invasion of privacy and harassment of a frontline Traditional ruler in Bayelsa State, King AJ Turner by men of the DSS, as an example. “Any genuine anti-corruption effort must be transparent and devoid of politics like we are currently experiencing under the current administration,” he said.
